A satisfying day.

Another dry day - with very low humidity (for here). Temps are creeping back into the 90s, though.

It was good to have the painting class starting back up again. Another of our old friends from Studio 2 signed up for the class this session. These are the kind of techniques that she loves, and I know she’ll enjoy the class, too.

The class started off about the same as last session, with watching a demo and learning how to do a “pour”. It’s always good to have a refresher. Next time, she’s going to set up a still life, and we’ll pick a section from it to draw loosely, and use that as a basis for a painting. Also, we’re going to learn how to make a “stamp” (the rubber thing that you put paint on, then stamp on the paper for designs.). That’s an exciting skill to learn.

I had lunch with Vicki at her house, then headed for home. It makes for a long day, but a very satisfying day.

Making a stamp, hmmm. I hope it's easier than what I learned.

I don't remember whether it was school or Scouts. We were supposed to cut a potato in two and carve a design into the cut surface. Then you dip the potato into the ink and press it on paper.

I don't recall its ending well. (It might have been guilt about wasting a potato.)
