John's car

Well, John’s car is gone. I wound up selling it for less than had been offered. When I got to the house, I got in the car to start it and check the odometer reading. I was astounded to see that there was a "bullet-hole" type break in the center of the windshield, and another crack in the lower right side. I knew it hadn't been that way last weekend. A large nut must have fallen and hit just right on it.

When the buyer got there, I told him about it, and said he might want to revise his offer. I was thinking $200 less, and when he came back he said he had checked and it was going to cost about that to replace/repair the windshield. That sounded fair to both of us, so we had a deal. Now he has the car, and I have cash in my pocket!
