Today's news

Pat Summitt has retired. Not unexpected, but I hate the situation. I read this, and it’s certainly her most enduring legacy: Every Lady Vol player who has completed her eligibility at Tennessee has graduated, and 74 former players, assistants, graduate assistants, team managers and directors of basketball operations are currently among the coaching ranks at every level of basketball.

Randy went home from the hospital this evening, without a pacemaker. His cardiac rhythm was good enough that they decided to go with medication. He's to take a daily aspirin and Plavix, and always have nitroglycerin with him. He'll be doing some cardiac rehab, too. We're all hugely relieved, of course.

I wanted to share these pictures of Kate and Wayne. Together they started on Weight Watchers about a year ago and have lots of weight. They've really done well, making the necessary life changes. The first picture is in October, 2009. The second was taken in October, 2011. Kate’s lost 120 pounds, Wayne 125. Great news from them, too.
