The Book Sale

See if your local library has a book sale. If it does, don’t just go to buy books, volunteer to help with the sale. It’s a great source of funds for our cash-strapped libraries.

Our library’s spring book sale is going on this week. I worked a shift this afternoon, and John and I will be doing two more shifts during the week. Teachers are able to get books for their classrooms without breaking their budgets. Families buy books for their homes. People whose homes and belongings were destroyed during the tornadoes came in to replace their precious books.

Folks read their books, and then bring them back to be sold again in the fall book sale. It’s an ongoing circle, and we keep it going.
