Waiting to go to lunch at a place in one of Venice's tiny side alleys.
My name is Mary Z. John and I live in Tennessee. We've been retired since 1991, and have a passion for travel and photography. I paint, do needlepoint and knit, read, work word puzzles. John is a rower and loves to read and work word puzzles, too.

It all makes me wonder. Both the Costco and the Sam's in our area have gas stations (with prices enough lower that they are not figured into the local average price).
Some of the supermarkets have "points programs," wherein you earn points for what you spend. Each 100 points, for example, means 10 cents/per gallon when you buy gas at participating stations.
That's really nice. Don't you wonder how come some places pay less for their gas?
Prices are strictly at the whim of somebody or other, I think. That price wasn't at the Costco station, but one on the perimeter. We buy our gas there, or more often at WalMart. By using our WM card, we are charged $0.03 less than the posted price. Having one of those big stores in a neighborhood tends to keep the other stations with lower prices.
