We were in Western South Carolina, south of Anderson. We drove down on the interstate through Atlanta, but came home today through the mountains. John was afraid with Georgia playing at home that I-85 would be crowded. Clemson was playing at Maryland - so that wasn't a problem. Plus it's been a gorgeous day, and a beautiful drive. It takes about an hour longer, but well worth it. If you look at the map, we took US 76 through Clemson, SC, to Hiwasee, GA - then turned north to pick up US 64 in North Carolina, and drove that along the Ocoee River (with all the rafting and kayakers) over to I-75 north of Chattanooga, and then on home. Not really a bad drive.
We stayed with the folks until nearly noon. We went to the auction to benefit one of the Mennonite schools in their area - lots of interesting stuff. They stayed to eat and watch the auction, but we just headed on home. They bought a bunch of stuff - a stool for Sue to do a needlepoint top; Sarah got a game; Randy bought a couple of loads of gravel for his shooting-clays club; and Alison bought a hand-quilted quilt (it was gorgeous - I had looked at it).
The photo is of Joe (Alison's fella), Alison, Sarah, and Sue.
