This was no prince.

Today was an unusual Monday - no Walmart. I’m saving up my strength to go to Costco tomorrow.

Bridge was so-so - or maybe less than that. I had a couple of good hands, but mostly yucky. There’s one lady who is very nice, but a really terrible bridge player. As it worked out, I had to play with her once and against her twice. It did make for a long afternoon. Oh, well - it’s my choice to be there.

This evening, we went to hear a speaker sponsored by the Chattanooga Historical Society at the Library. I’d never heard of this organization before, but there were maybe 70-80 people. The speaker was an author from Nashville, who had written about a Civil War figure who was an ancestor of the author. The speaker was awful. Nobody had ever heard of the subject of the book - but that’s because he didn’t do anything notable. We could only hope that the guy was a better writer than he was a speaker. We’ll never find out, though. To mix a metaphor, I guess you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince of a speaker.

We loved these empty landscapes of Iceland.
