Don't mess with Mother Nature!

The images coming from the flooding in Nashville are incredible. This kind of natural disaster is always terrible, but it’s even worse when you’re familiar with the places that are underwater. Jean was okay - as far as her house was concerned. But I don’t know whether she got to work or not.

It didn’t start raining here until nearly 6:30 this evening. Over the 5 hours since then, we’ve had 1.25” of rain, and it’s predicted to rain all night. They’re expecting some of the usual areas to experience some flooding, but it won’t affect us - here in our hilly neighborhood.

John, the wonderful electrician, finished changing out the receptacles, switchplates, and covers today. We got the middle bedroom furniture put back in order, but are waiting for some help tomorrow to do the office/studio. It still looks naked with nothing on the walls, but it is looking SO good. Now we’re both getting excited to see the end results.

We’re also watching the oil slick in the Gulf of Mexico with fear and horror. What a disaster that has turned out to be. And this one may affect us personally, too. The graphics of the slick show it just off shore from “our” beach house. Our reservation isn’t for two more months, but it’s still a concern.

This is what we hope to get when we go whale watching. Even this huge creature would be in trouble if he/she encountered such an oil spill.
