You are aware that my street looked that way last August? Venice is beautiful, but I think I'll pass.
I love to visit but no thanks to living there!! Do you like detective stories?? I read lots for relaxation believe it or not. Donna Leon writes a series set in Venice. Quite atmospheric :-)
I would love to stay there - not sure I'd want to live permanently there, as the canals sometimes get a bit whiffy in the summer! Compensation is probably how magical they look on a misty winter's day.
