A hot Saturday

It surely did feel good to get a solid 10 hours sleep last night (with only two potty breaks). I really did need that after the sleeplessness the night before.

The semiannual Friends of the Library book sale started today. John and I worked a 3-hour shift this afternoon. Folks were really stocking up. This is a great way to buy books, and the sale is always well patronized here. I’ll probably pick up some books-on-tape for Jean.

Today has been another blistering hot one - highs in the upper 90s. We’re due to start getting rain from tropical storm Lee tomorrow sometime. And then we’re supposed to be having a few days with highs in the 70s!!!!! To say nothing of the rain that we need. It’s a shame that Texas isn’t getting some of Lee’s rain.

We got the invitations for Alison & Joe’s wedding and receptions today. Since the families are so spread out, they’re going to two receptions - one in CA and one in TN. It should be fun.
