Today was a gorgeous day! (and not because we didn’t try to go to the movie)
We woke up to temps in the mid60s!!!!! What a wonderful break from the heat - not that summer is completely over, but this makes it more bearable.
John, Allan, and Tina went hiking along Richland Creek in Dayton. John took the opportunity to take them to the courthouse in Dayton (site of the Scopes Trial in the 1920s), and Chester Frost Park - a nice tour of north Hamilton County.
I stayed home and made a pot of vegetable soup (YUM!). I even got a wild hair and made some Dream Bars. I can’t even remember the last time I made some, and they are SO good.
The hikers returned and we spent the rest of the afternoon on the porch, talking, and then eating supper. And Tennessee won and UTC just barely lost to App State.
Just a lovely day!
