This weekend was the Eastern Wedding Reception at Margaret and Bobby’s house. It was a terrific party. We had hoped Jesse would be able to get home for the party, but that didn’t happen. He called a couple of times though, so everybody got to talk to him. He probably won’t get back home until around Christmastime. We were disappointed, but that’s just the way it is.
The weekend was SUCH fun. Of course there was so much food - and all so good. Most fun was how well everybody got along and what fun everybody had. We had our beach group, plus more of Alison’s family and some of Joe’s family, several of their friends, people from DE, NC, SC, FL, GA, TX, MO, and of course, TN. Ages ranged from near 80 to 5 months. The weather was gorgeous, and folks could be outside on the porches. For those who stayed overnight in the area, Margaret and Kate cooked up a “beach breakfast” this morning.
John, Anne, Nick, and I drove took the scenic route home - over the back roads. There are still some gorgeous fall colors. We had a good dinner (thanks for the lasagna in the freezer), watched some TV, and then crashed for the night.
A great weekend with great family, friends, and food. Doesn’t get any better than that!
